The game does contain hotkeys for various buildings: Its about 1998 in terms of RTS interface evolution.īut most importantly, somebody please tell me how to delete stuff. You expect it to be hard later on in the game once youve grasped the basics, not right from the start.Īnd of course, i have to say the interface is really bad when compared to Rise of Nations or Warcraft III, in my opinion (as a professional user interface designer and long time hardcore RTS gamer) theres many aspects of it that just dont work. Ive never played games of this series before, so the learning curve was pretty high and i dont think the game explains itself well to the new-comer and the difficulty level is quite harsh - even when set to easy some of campaigns are really difficult. Not being able to use the shift/ctrl selection methods that im used to from Rise of Nations or Warcraft III. Like not being able to hotkey buildings so that you dont have to go and find it all the time, or what about easy ways of removing buildings (i say easy because i havent found a way yet but im sure its there somewhere). Don't get me wrong it has some great aspects, but overally its just not up to the quality standards set by Blizzard and Microsoft. I have it, played thru the first few missions.
